Red PR - Choose To Live In Colour!

What is colour? Colour holds power, it can impact our moods, emotions and behaviours based on the way it is presented to the naked eye.

According to a study by Canva colour influences 85% of shoppers’ purchase decisions. The colour of a product or brand can also influence between 62-90% of a product assessment with colour increasing brand awareness by 80%. Furthermore, it is also known that choosing the correct colour to represent your brand or marketing campaign is vital in its’ success. A poor colour choice can be 'make or break' in the strength of your call-to-action.

The use of colour in branding influences the brand’s personality. For example, think McDonald's. The use of the colour red triggers stimulation, appetite and hunger whilst the colour yellow triggers the feelings of happiness and friendliness. On research, the combination of the colours red and yellow represent speed – very fitting for a family-friendly fast-food chain.

As brands evolve and refresh, they may add further colours to their palette to represent pivots in their business. For example, regarding McDonald's again, some stores have added the colour green behind the yellow 'arch' to create a more environmentally friendly and relaxing perception. These stores are most likely in a big town or city setting where customers are encouraged to pop-in for a relaxing coffee away from their busy lifestyles in the outside world.

Colour is a form of non-verbal communication and in order to make an impression with your brand you need to utilise it well. Although colours can mean one certain thing for one brand as it is not a static energy, it’s meaning can diversify for another – it all depends on what energy is expressed by the brand itself.

At Red PR our use of the colour 'red' signifies energy, passion, strength and confidence – something that describes Carey-Ann down to a tee when it comes to her commitment to both her own work standards and that rings true for her clients too.

Christian Louboutin took an innovative approach to design which ensured the arrival of the signature red-soled heels, a game changer! Louboutin launched his brand at the very top of the designer market, literally strutting past firm favourites Prada, Gucci and Monolos like they were wellies. Carey-Ann took this concept and ran with it and Red PR was born. She carefully created an innovative approach to communications and designed a brand that represented her business best, one which is driven by passion, the very passion that Carey-Ann has for her role ever since. This passion has been ingrained in the employees here at Red PR also and we as a team pride ourselves on our ability to create tailor-made proposals to suit the needs of our clients in order to achieve their business goals.

In conclusion, when forming your brand identity, make sure to evaluate exactly how you want your brand to be perceived. A picture paints a thousand words and its’ colours evoke a range of emotions. Red PR clients choose to live in colour, we hope you will too!
